Tuition and Monthly Payments

Tuition is a flat monthly rate based on the total number of lessons in the Studio Year. Rates are the same for students beginning part way through the year. Tuition is due between the 1st and the 5th day of the month and may be paid with cash/check in person or with credit/debit card online. A $15 dollar late fee may be added to monthly payments received after the 5th day of the month.

The monthly tuition pays for once a week, one on one instruction that is tailored to each student’s individual needs. It also covers my outside preparation for each lesson, lesson scheduling and re-scheduling, billing and invoicing, materials for study in lessons.

Monthly Tuition Rates
Weekly half-hour lessons / $130 per month
Weekly hour lessons / $210 per month

Performance Opportunities

Students are strongly encouraged to take part in studio recitals. Recitals are a great way for the student to put into practice all they have been working on in a supportive performance setting. Recital date to be determined.

Missed and Make-Up Lessons

Scheduled lessons canceled by Ms. Schmitt (for any reason other than weather) are guaranteed a make up lesson.

Lessons canceled by the student/parent with a minimum of 24 hours notice will be recorded as a make-up lesson credit. A make-up time will be offered for that lesson at a later date as time allows but is not guaranteed. Lessons canceled by the student for any reason with less than 24 hours notice or forgotten lessons will not be given a make-up credit. A student’s regular lesson may not be counted as a make-up lesson.

Make-up lessons may not be taken during months the student has stopped taking their regular lesson. Snow days and days canceled for inclement weather are accounted for in the studio schedule and are not given separate make-up times. No refunds, monetary credits, or pro-rations will be given for missed or canceled lessons.

Suspending or Stopping Lessons

A minimum of 1 month’s notice is required for stopping or suspending lessons. If less notice is given, the student/parent is still responsible for the full coming month’s tuition. To guarantee the student’s place in the studio schedule, the full tuition is due for the time they will be taking off.

If the student does not wish to guarantee their place but wants to continue at a later time, they will be placed on my waiting list until they indicate they are ready to start lessons again. A choice of the lesson times currently available at that time will be given but an immediate opening is never guaranteed. Once lessons have been suspended or stopped, any make-up lesson credits that are pending for that student will be closed.
